Here's where
I'm gonna post any Farkles I do to my FJR. Any
maintenance issues will be covered over at my FJR
Maintenance page. I just added a page for my fuel cell! Since the
weather's gonna be crappy I'm gonna start the Farkle procedure tomorrow. I started by pulled most of the bodywork off tonight just to get ready. Tank up rear. Tank up rear. Tank up left. I'm starting
with two power plates and two ground blocks. Koso heated
grips are also on the agenda for tomorrow. I'm excited
about these because I just became a dealer and they look pretty well built
compared to Hot Grips. I'm gonna add
a few Marinco cigarette lighter outlets
also. I just became
a dealer for Heat-Troller's too. I'm gonna
place an order this week and I'll get them mounted ASAP! Here are some more pics of this Farkle session. More tank up pics??? Inside the Koso heated grip controller. Close ups of
the Koso heated grips. VERY COOL, I mean hot, yeah HOT! Modified ground block. Modified power plate. Mounted relay and modified ground block. Mounted modified power plate. See the two
holes? That's where the second power plate is going. Pics from under the seat where I mounted the second ground block and power plate. Misc pics. Battery and power plate pics. Ground block pics. Power plate pics. Mounted Koso heated grips. I got a
new-to-me Handy lift so now it's a little nicer to work on my bikes. Now if I
could clear some of the shite outta my garage it would be much nicer. Here are the
pics of the latest Farkle session. We (Nick) mounted 4 Heat-Troller's to my FJR. These two on the front are for my Warm-N-Safe clothes, and my Farkle Master heated seat. These two are for my wife's Warm-N-Safe clothes and her Farkle Master heated seat. The batteries died in my camera so there will be more to follow. Worked on the
FJR again tonight since we're getting more snow. Here are the pics of the Heat-Trollers mounted that I promised. Front two are
for rider's clothes, and riders seat! Rear two are for the same, clothes and seat. We added a Datel voltmeter. That's Nick
filing down the edges and shrink-wrapping the leads for it. Looks pretty cool there and fits no problem. Cee Bailey +4 +3 (It's friggin' HUGE!!!) Givi tail rack from Farkle Masters We relocated the power plate to under the right side lower. Just another picture of the ground block and the relay. RAM XM mount and Buddy Christ! Don't know
where either one of them is gonna end up. Another session this week and here are the updates. Drilled and tapped the brake perch to accept a 10mm x 1.25 bolt so I could mount a RAM mount ball. Mounted the Passport 8500 on the Quack Fab dash shelf. Drilled a small hole to secure the wire for the Passport. Mounted the Passport 8500 Smart Cord controller in the "D" panel. Here's a close up. This is where I (Nick) moved the Power Plate fuse block to. Farkled up dash with (from left to right) XM radio, Magellan RoadMate 700, Escort Passport 8500, Buddy Christ, Garmin eTrex Vista, and in the "D" panel the Datel voltmeter and Passport remote control. Same as above but I moved Buddy Christ. From the front. Nick astride his creation. I'm financing
it but it's his project. Very nice
work indeed! I brought my Givi rack to Ultimate Powder Coating and got it
powder-coated wrinkle black. It looks 110%
better then the Givi coating. Then after I bought my Corbin seat which is one piece instead of the stock two piece design the little V on the middle bar of the Givi rack interfered with the installation and removal of the Corbin. I fixed it by cutting the V out and reversing it to point to the back of the bike. Then I had it re-powder coated and presto, it's all better. New Farkle session December '04. This is where
the noise suppressor for my J&M unit gets hidden. Left side frame spar behind the lower. Here's what my garage looks like with the FJR in pieces everywhere. I threw in my
Penske the other night. Piece of
cake. The lower arrow is the lower shock bolt the upper is the linkage bolt that needed to be removed to swap shocks. The arrow shows the top shock bolt from far away so you can get an idea on where it is. Then there's a close up and a shot with the bolt half out. I decided to install the bulkhead into my stock tank since everything was going so well with my Galfer SS brake lines. I didn't really do a write up since I just used this page: http://www.fjr1300.info/howto/bulkhead.html Very simple and straight forward. I took this picture so I could tell the orientation of the fuel pump upon reinstallation. Print it out if ya need it. I mounted the 1/4" NPT 90° fitting to the bulkhead and ran 1/4" fuel line from the barbed end to a small Motion Pro dry break. I connected the dry break together and pumped come compressed air into the tank. No leaks that I could hear. I found some very cool dry breaks at Moreland Hose but they were just too big. I bought two 'cuz they were so nicely made but I used the small plastic ones instead. I filled the tank past the bulkhead with fuel and so far it's all still inside the tank. I guess that's one in the W column. Here's a pic of my tool tray. You can see along the left side subframe rail the small inline fuel filter. Everybody brakes my shoes about using this filter but it only has to filter the shit from my fuel cell before the stock filter does it's job. Plus I think it looks cool. That's the fuel line just coiled up under the passenger seat until the fuel cell is done. I hope QUACKA is ready to hit it soon.
