So I finally dug out my '97 TLS and decided to
finish the handle bar conversion I started a few years ago.
I ordered the brakes lines from Galfer and the cables from Motion Pro. I got
everything together and the bike is just a complete ANIMAL compared to the dual
sport bikes I've been riding lately. If I whacked the throttle open on the TL
like I do on my DRZ I'd be on my back with a very heavy motorcycle trying to
pounce me into the ground. One problem was that it wasn't charging, bad
regulator. Another was that it's so God awful ugly being that I bought it
crashed and sold the upper it was only a matter of time before I was getting
harassed by the man. I gave it to a buddy of mine with a regulator from another
bike, and some Buell headlights I was gonna throw on my DR 650 to see if he
could get it working and he shot me some pics today. We don't have any before
pics but these are the ones that make it look good!!!
He removed the 20 oz Coke bottle I
was using for the puke tank and fabbed up this. Pretty cool with the clear hose
as a sight.

Here it is with the Buell headlight
and small shield mounted.

Our idea didn't work with the
regulator so I'll keep looking.
New regulator is on the way
but with the new Buell headlights I've been running just the running
lights during the day and I've had no issues with the charging system.
So now that that's worked
out the bike is for sale.
$2,750 takes it.
New Pro Taper handlebars, Galfer SS front brake lines, new choke, clutch, and throttle push/pull cables,
new aluminum diamond plate radiator covers.
