The last race of the loudon season. How depressing. Guaranteeing a first place in the rookie race, I’m sorry to say I placed fourth. Looks a lot easier in the bleachers. Next year I’m hoping to beat my fellow CATFISH Racers… If not in the race, at least on lap times. My best time was a 1:45.5 on a 1.6-mile track. CATFISH got a 1:39 and S. Omeone got a 1:37. Being the youngest of the team, and the lightest (not by much), plus having the fastest bike I figured I’d be lapping the two. I guess maybe you get better with age. But hey, this is just my first of (hopefully) many race reports (from the riders’ point of view). Maybe the next time I’m writing about a race I’ll be sitting on the podium holding a trophy (not really likely). We’re not as bad as you think. It’s just that there are some riders in amateur who should at least be in the Jr. class (these guys are fast). I guess winning IS more important than challenge. I don’t think amateurs get looked at by sponsors. I think anyone that can lap at least half the group should be flogged and moved up. Well I highsided. Not on the racetrack, in the pits on a tri-zinger, doing stupid human tricks. But that’s another story. Well this is VLN signing off.
